In its formulation, this problem is a nonlinear and spatial problem, since the displacements of the particles are finite (and not small) quantities (geometric nonlinearity), and motion occurs on the surface of the cone. In a unique way, the solution of this most complicated problem is reduced to the solution of the problem of the propagation of brittle, star-like cracks in thin plates with extensive stretching; a task that was previously considered by the author (Trans.
