On January 25, 2016, for the first time in Azerbaijan presentation of \u201cSCOPUS\u201d prize was held. At the event, the executive director of Science Development Foundation under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Babayev spoke about importance of this presentation and especially underlined our government\u2019s care to development of science. Elchin Babayev said that this prize is one of the global prizes of the known academic publishers and providers of information solutions \u201cElsevier\u201d and it was founded to perfect investigation in all the fields of science and to support the efforts of researchers. The main goal is to motivate Azerbaijan scientists, to stimulate their academic activities, to distinguish exclusive academic journals and institutions obtaining very important results in their researches, publishing papers in very authorative journals, and extending their international relations.
\nAt the event, vice-president of ANAS acad. Ibrahim Guliyev, director of global group of companies \u201cFlex\u201d where \u201cElsever\u201d is included, on corporative relations and Asian strategy Youngsuk Chi, deputy Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, deputy of Milli Mejlis Bakhtiyar Aliyev addressed the meeting, underlined importance of this presentation and spoke about the activity of Science Development Foundation.
\nSpecial prizes were presented to four scientific-research institutions of Azerbaijan known beyond the boundaries of the country (Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Institute of Physics, and Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS) and two journals according to international estimation criteria. Based on the results of the choice of SCOPUS and SciVal bases, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Science Development Foundation under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan were rewarded with special prizes for their contribution to development of science in Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
