3rd assembly of Scientific Council of the International Turkic Academy


Baku hosted a meeting of the Scientific Council of the International Turkic Academy on January 30.

Meeting was attended by President of ANAS academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Ministers of Education of Kazakhstan and Kirgizstan Kanat Sarsembayev and Japarkul Tashiyev, Head of Training and Education Department of the National Ministry of Education of Turkey Burhaneddin Donmez, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking States Altinbey Mamayusupov, Head of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Fund Gunay Efendiyeva Deputy Secretary General of TÜRKSOY Bilal Chakıjı, as well as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Turkey and Hungary in Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov said that the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states had taken a number of important events and expanded its activities in a short time. Thanks to the efforts of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s relations with the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states and all Turkic peoples have been raised to a high level. The Minister expressed confidence that cooperation in the field of science and education will develop within the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states.

Further, President of the International Turkic Academy, Darkhan Kidirali, acquainted the participants with the activities of the organization. It was brought to attention that over the past year, the International Turkic Academy has organized more than 30 international forums, symposia and seminars. At the same time, the Academy published 24 books in different languages.

Speaking at the meeting, ANAS first vice-president academician Isa Habibbayli noted that it is necessary to create the Association of Libraries of these countries to ensure the continuous exchange of publications between the academies of Turkic-speaking countries. He also emphasized the importance of expanding ties between universities in Turkic-speaking countries.

Speaking about cooperation between ANAS, International Turkic Academy and the academies of Turkic-speaking countries, I. Habibbayli noted that the reinforcing of these ties will contribute to the development of science and education.

Then at the meeting the main scientific directions, the priorities of the organization for 2020, the list of important anniversary events of the Turkic world, which are planned to be held, as well as cooperation in the field of science and education were discussed.

Recall that at the VII summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States held in Baku on October 15, 2019, chairmanship of the Scientific Council of the International Turkic Academy was transferred to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
