March 8 is International Women’s Day

In 1910, the German socialist woman Klara Setkin managed to mark March 8 as World Women’s Day. In 1977, the UN declared this day as Women’s Day. Women’s Day is also widely celebrated in Azerbaijan. Today, the state women’s policy in our republic, the traditions founded by the great leader Heydar Aliyev in this direction are worthily continued by President Ilham Aliyev. President Ilham Aliyev pays close attention to the role and place of women in society, their representation in public administration and promotion.
