Today the “Optimal Control” department was held its regular seminar. At the seminar, Nijat Aliyev, associate professor at the Baku Higher Oil School, gave a report on the topic “Subspace method for the estimation of large-scale structured real stability radius”.

The report investigated the issue of calculating the structured real stability radius for large-scale systems. For this purpose, a new subspace-based approach was proposed. It was theoretically proven that the proposed method works with a quadratic convergence rate. The effectiveness of the approach was demonstrated by tests conducted on various numerical examples.
