On April 12, 2023 at 10:00 am, the next general scientific seminar of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics will be held. At the seminar c.p.-m.s., associate professor Elvin Azizbayov will speech on the theme “Simultaneous identification of the right-hand side and time-dependent coefficients in a two-dimensional parabolic equation”.

In the report, the speaker will first talk about the inverse problems, the classifications and applications of inverse problems, and current state of scientific works in this field. For this purpose, the considered problem is reduced to an auxiliary problem within certain data and the equivalence of the auxiliary problem to the original problem is proved. Then, using the Fourier method, the auxiliary problem is presented in the form of a system of integral equations, and the unique existence of the solution of the obtained system of integral equations for a small value of time is shown. Based on the equivalency of these problems, the existence and uniqueness theorem for the classical solution of the original inverse problem is proved. Further, some numerical procedure are constructed by discretizing the considered equation and boundary conditions, obtained numerical solutions for the special examples are given in tabular form, and corresponding graphs are displayed using MatLab mathematical software package.
