The International scientific conference "XI Modern Problems of Mathematics and Mechanics" will be held under the organization of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, dedicated to the memory of Nasireddin Tusi, a brilliant Azerbaijani scientist and thinker who lived in the 13th century.
The conference is planned to be held on July 03-06, 2024 in Baku.

Head of the Department of “Mechanics of Deformable Solids” of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor Latif Talibli and doctor of philosophy in mechanics, leading research associate Mehriban Mammadova’s article “Study on the Method for a Solution to Some Class of Quasi-Static Problems in Linear Viscoelasticity Theory, as Applied to Problems of Linear Torsion of a Prismatic Solid” is included as a chapter in the first volume of the large volume of the scientific collection “Recent Advances in Mathematical Research and Computer Science”, published by the well-known publishing house BP International.

The article presents a new method for the exact solution of quasi-static problems of the theory of linear viscoelasticity of the mechanics of a deformable solid. The proposed method allowed to find an exact solution to the problem of torsion of prismatic bodies made of viscoelastic material in a special case.
