Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics held a seminar on “Monitoring of separation of radon gas in geophysical stations located in Shamakhi, Kurdamir and Shaki regions”
On June 5, at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, together with the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, a seminar on “Monitoring of the separation of radon gas in geophysical stations located in Shamakhi, Kurdamir and Shaki regions” was held. Along with the staff of the institute, scientists of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Radiation Problems, Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, Republican Seismological Service Center at ANAS, scientists of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Baku State University participated in the workshop.
The event was opened by Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Misir Mardanov. He informed the participants about the issues discussed at previous seminars.
Associate Professor of the Public Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hilale Jafarova spoke about the results obtained with the help of modern mathematical methods and computer technology in radon gas concentrations, air temperature, atmospheric pressure and humidity dependence, short, medium and long term variation of volume activity in modern geophysical stations in Shamakhi, Kurdamir and Shaki regions.
Director-General of the RSSC under the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli, academician Akper Feyzullayev, corresponding members of ANAS Dadash Aga Huseynov, Chingiz Aliyev chief research ass. of the Institute of Control Systems, Professor Ramin Rzayev attended the discussions.
Then, at the seminar, the employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems, PhD in phil. Yadigar Jafarov gave detailed information on radon gas research in recent years.
Then the head of the Department of “Earthquake Dynamics” and “International Seismotography” laboratory of the RSSC, associate professor Sabina Kazimova gave a report on “Analysis of geodynamics of the territory of Azerbaijan in 2003-2017” and senior research ass. of “Magnetometry” department Nadirshah Khanbabayev gave a report on “Investigations and specification of tectonic fractures along the regional profiles in Guba province”.
Prof. of BSU Rovshan Aliyev, PhD in Geology, Associate Professor Rauf Bagirli, Acting Director General for Scientific Issues at RSSC under ANAS, Associate Professor Rauf Muradov, Head of Department of Magnetometry, Doctor of Geological Sciences, Ph.D. Valiyev Humbat, Head of “Seismology” department, d.g.s. Mammadov Tahir and associate professor Azay Rzayev attended the meeting.
At the end of the event, Prof. Misir Mardanov highly appreciated the obtained scientific results. In order to continue scientific research on the above mentioned directions, he proposed to create a working group consisting of eight people. A working group was created with the consent of the seminar participants.
The group was tasked to continue joint scientific researches in the directions intended and to provide further information on the results obtained.
