Schoolchildren representing our country successfully participated in individual and team competitions at the III International Olympiad in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation.
10th grade student of Chemistry and Biology Chemistry Republican Lyceum Ali Aliyev won the gold, Aghdash city, 10th grade student of technical, humanitarian and natural sciences gymnasium Farid Aliyev won the bronze medal. Murad Aghazadeh, 9th grader of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics Lyceum, was awarded a silver medal in mathematics. Ibrahim Tagizadeh, 10th grader of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics High School, won a bronze medal in informatics.
Participants from the countries selected by the Olympiad have participated in the international event. The Olympiad is a team tournament on four different disciplines (math, informatics, chemistry and physics). At the first stage, it is important for team members not only to correctly solve their assignments, but also to be fast. Participants in chemistry and physics demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the competition, consisting of theoretical and practical parts. Participants in Mathematics and Informatics will be able to solve the tasks presented to them. The works are evaluated by international jury.
Students taking part in the Olympiad have undergone a special training program at the International Olympiads Preparation Center at the Physics, Mathematics and Informatics Lyceum.
In the centers established in 2014 on the basis of the relevant order of the Ministry of Education, students have been involved in preparations for four years, having two different age groups on five different subjects – mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics. Pupils of different public and private educational institutions are invited to these centers with more than 200 listeners.
It should be noted that the pupils participating in this Olympiad for the first time in 2017 have won one gold and four bronze medals.
