The 30th International Informatics Olympiad (IOI) of the schoolchildren ended in Tsukuba, Japan.
In addition to rewarding participants at the Closing Ceremony with participation of the responsible employees of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, Sports and Technology of Japan, a number of prestigious public organizations and company managers, that the next year’s race will be held in Azerbaijan it was announced. By the organizers, the flag of the International Informatics Olympiad was presented to the Deputy Minister of Education of our country Firudin Gurbanov.
Speaking at the event, Kurbanov congratulated the participants on the end of the Olympiad and thanked the organizers and the Japanese government for organizing the event at a high level. The Deputy Minister invited the participants to the 31st International Informatics Olympiad to be held in our country next year and informed them about Azerbaijan.
Then a short film about our country was demonstrated.
So, in 2019, the 31st International Informatics Olympiad will be held in Azerbaijan.
The results of the national team at the Olympic Games in Japan of Japan have been significantly improved in comparison with previous years. The students were trained at the Republican International Olympics Preparatory Center with the support of the Ministry of Education and Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Azercell Telecom LLC.
Our republic was represented 24 times at this international event. Totally 55 Azerbaijani schoolchildren took part in this Olympiad. Our students have won five medals from the International Informatics Olympiad, one silver and four bronze medals.
