On November 21, ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics held a meeting of the Scientific Publishing Council of ANAS.
Chairman of the board, director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov gave detailed information about the activities of the publishing council and its tasks. It was noted that, as a result of careful attention of the leadership of ANAS in recent years, certain steps have been taken in this area. One of these steps is to investigate the current state of the journals published in the institutes of ANAS, to define requirements for scientific journals in the world, to make initial comparative analysis and to make effective proposals for publication of modern publications.
The scientist noted that after he was appointed chairman of the publishing house, he first met with responsible secretaries responsible for the magazine’s preparation, and closely examined the current status of the journals. The inclusion of the journals “Azerbaijan Mathematics Journal”, “Proc. of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics”, “Chemical Problems” and “Oil Chemistry and Oil Processing Processes” in Web of Science is the result of the attention and care of ANAS leadership in recent years.
Misir Mardanov said that absence of the distribution mechanism of published journals, problems in reviewing the papers, editorializing of one the same person in two or more journals, the lack of a scientific degree of the secretary, the absence of the official website of 28 journals are among the deficiencies.
M.Mardanov noted that the scientific publishing council under the Presidium of ANAS stressed the importance of the publishing activities in accordance with modern requirements and bringing the scientific achievements to the international community.
Academicians Ramiz Mammadov, Shahin Mustafayev, corresponding members of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov, Ramiz Aliguliyev, Dadash Huseynov, doctors of sciences Nazim Imanov, Ayaz Bayramov and others voiced their suggestions and recommendations.
