Today the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS held a commemorative event dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy. The event was opened by the head of the “Education” department of the Institute, Professor Adalat Akhundov. He shared the events of 1990 with participants of the event. In his speech, he noted that the bloody night is a glorious chronicle of our national will, and the Martyrs’ alley, where the brave sons and daughters sleep, is sacred for our people.

Head of “Functional Analysis” department, professor Hamidulla Aslanov, veteran of Garabagh war, leading researcher of the department “Non-harmonic analysis”, Doctor of Mathematics Telman Gasimov, Head of Algebra and Mathematical Logic Department, Ph.D. , associate professor Ali Babayev shared their views that bloody January incidents can not extinguish the love of freedom of the Azerbaijani people, but our martyrs and martyrs’ alleys will be a source of pride for future generations as a symbol of our independence.
