On the occasion of the Republic Day, by the initiation of the Trade Unions Committee of IMM, ANAS, the institute of Mathematics and Mechanics met the parliamentary of Milli Mejlis III (2005) and IV (2016), the member of interparliamentary relations and international relations of Milli Majlis, the head of working group of Azerbaijan Georgia interparlimentary relations, a member of the working groups of Azerbaijan-Turkey, Azerbaijan-Japan interparlimentary relations, a member of the Azerbaijan delegation to Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Ganira Pashayeva and the well-known writer of Turkey Maryam Aybike Sinan.

Director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov congratulated all on the Republic Day and thanked Ganira Pshayeva for accepting the invitation.

Then Ganira Pashayeva noted that on May 28, 1918, the history of the struggle for freedom and independence of our people was decorated with golden letters. It is a day when every Azerbaijani citizen feels the national pride and his dreams come true. The people of Azerbaijan, who lived for centuries with the desire for freedom and independence, dreamed about this bright May at the beginning of the last century. For the first time in the East, it was declared to the world where an independent republic based on free, democratic, secular values. Our nation was liberated from the colonial occupation of Tsarist Russia for more than a century on May 28, 1918 and laid the foundations of the first democratic republic of the East. The Declaration of Independence was adopted at the meeting of the National Council of Azerbaijan that day. Establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was a new stage and historical event in the life of our people in the twentieth century.

At the end, the guests were presented gifts from the Institute’s Trade Union Committe. Ganira Pashayeva presented the book “God is in loving hearts” and Maryam Aybike Sinan presented the book “Raziye Begum Sultan” and “Love Revenge” to the employees of the Institute.
