The weekly Wednesday seminar on 10 December 2014, 10.00 a.m., will feature Professor Yakov Yakubov (Raymond and Beverly Sackler School of Mathematical Sciences Tel-Aviv University, Israel) who will talk about «Recent developments in elliptic differential-operator problems in Hilbert and Banach spaces».

In this talk, we present a review on our last results for boundary value problems for the second, fourth and higher order elliptic differential-operator equations in Hilbert and Banach spaces. In some cases, the boundary conditions may be irregular, may be with the spectral parameter or with an unbounded operator in the main part of the boundary conditions. Isomorphism results, estimates of the solution, discreteness of the spectrum and completeness of a system of root vectors are obtained. One concrete abstract problem, which is also interesting from the application point of view, will be considered in detail.
